A team of neurosurgeons is leaving Doctors Hospital in Coral Gables (Fla.) to be part of a new neurosurgery center established by Larkin Community Hospital in South Miami, according to a Miami Herald report.

The group, Miami Neuroscience Center, was based at Doctors for 18 years. The group’s founder, Aizik Wolf, MD, said he wanted to establish a physician-centered practice. This was in discord with Baptist Health South Florida, Doctors’ parent company, which is focusing on becoming an “ever-larger organization,” according to the report.

Six physicians are making the move with Dr. Wolf. The new center will open Jan. 3, according to a Larkin news release.
